I did not advertise this very broadly, mainly because I wanted to be selective about the attendance to this first meeting, but on the 3rd of July I organized the 1st Dutch meeting on the study of social and affective touch. Having worked on social touch technology for the past three years, I have spoken to many people from various disciplines who have done amazing work on social and affective touch. A surprisingly large number of these people was actually based in the Netherlands, so I decided to organize a meeting to share knowledge and look for ways to collaborate. Currently I am planning a second meeting for this year, and am looking into forming an official society around the study of social and affective touch.
